Line of Business – Lot Fourteen Aboriginal Art & Cultures Centre

Role Purpose:
The Assistant Director, Program and Strategy for the Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre (AACC) project will lead and drive the relevant areas of creative planning, programming, and curatorial strategy development to ensure that the AACC delivers a world-class cultural facility that achieves project objectives and best practice operations to the satisfaction of key stakeholders and the community. The role will act as the central coordination point between the collecting institutions to collaboratively develop their appropriate use within the AACC along with relevant national and global partners. Responsibilities include ensuring planning and delivery functions of the project are met including the development of the AACC’s artistic vision, programming, curatorial strategy, digital experience, collections logistics, stakeholder management, communications and change management activities. This role will work closely with the AACC design team to inform the detailed concept design and functionality to ensure it is in congruence with the artistic vision for the new facility. The AACC’s vision is to create – an extraordinary, immersive experience combining traditional storytelling with modern technology to deliver a major cultural tourist attractor and a source of pride for all South Australian, as the world learns more about the incredible story and unique cultures of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

Special Conditions:

  • This position is a SAES1 salary range from $167,239 - $200,000 p.a. 
  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
  • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
  • Applicants will be required to undergo the appropriate and relevant Employment Screening Assessment(s) required for this role in line with the DPC Employment Screening Policy.

Requirements:

  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in the creative industries, arts, fine arts or related discipline.


Contract Type:

Long Term Contract – Up to 36 months

SAES1 – Executive
$167,239 - $200,000 p.a.
