The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Farm Hand to be part of our SARDI Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The primary purpose of the role is to undertake farm activities that support research in SARDI. The key responsibilities of the Farm Hand will include all aspects of farm work including sheep and cattle husbandry, tractor driving, cropping and all areas of fencing.

The role contributes delivering the agency’s priorities including increasing productivity of our primary industries, growing regions, building partnerships and organisational performance.

The role contributes to delivering leading edge applied research and development on behalf of PIRSA that grows South Australia’s primary industries food and wine.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver’s license and willingness to drive.
  • Willingness to ride quad bike and complete training.
  • Some out of hours work will be required during summer, harvest, and other periods of peak work demand, for which overtime is available.
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
  • Must complete additional training as required for the role.
  • Willingness to obtain HR License.

Remuneration
GSE4 - $1,106.10 min - $1,117.80 max per week, plus superannuation
