This is an outstanding opportunity to step up to the next level and provide high quality clinical care to babies and families within the Neonatal Service at Flinders Medical Centre. Working as part of a multidisciplinary academic clinical team, you will deliver clinical services of the highest possible standard to newborn infants and their families. You will actively pursue improved outcomes for newborn infants in South Australia by participating in teaching and research relevant to neonatal perinatal medicine. The neonatal unit is a tertiary service with an excellent record of quality clinical care and research. The unit has just completed a major upgrade/rebuild with an increase in beds from 37 to 50, including 16 NICU beds. We are linked to a high risk pregnancy and maternal fetal medicine service set within a major adult hospital with a full range of adult specialties, including adult intensive care. The hospital is also co-located with Flinders University and academic status will be available to the successful applicant. Flinders Medical Centre is located in the pleasant foothills of Adelaide, close to the sparkling Southern beaches and famous food and wine region.
You will need to hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration in the field of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. Demonstrating clinical experience and competence in the practice of Neonatology, you will also bring extensive experience in clinical education. A confident communicator who can lead a team of multidisciplinary staff, you will possess high level skills in problem solving and decision making at both the individual and team level.
