Job Description:

The role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium schools education program. The program is developed in consideration of education best practice, the Australian National Curriculum, state education priorities and the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium strategic and business plans. Programs will include learner centred pedagogies, TfEl and place-based learning best practice. The role will include identifying and engaging with appropriate educational institutions, liaison with Botanic Gardens staff and volunteers and initiating and managing partnership to support the aims of the education program. The development of engaging educational resources involving accurate information and where appropriate, ICT strategies for year levels R - 12.

Contract Length: 12 months

Special Conditions:

• May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
• May require some intra/interstate travel.
• This role has functions pertaining to working with children and is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person) Act 2016 as requiring a Working with Children Check (WWCC). By applying for this role you consent to being screened for appropriate behaviour and to the Department obtaining, or requiring you to obtain a WWCC.
• Some out of hours work may be required.
• Located at the Goodman Building, Adelaide Botanic Garden with programs delivered across all the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium sites.

Salary:

ASO6 $92,784 min - $98,143 max per annum.
