Job Descriptions:

The Project Officer, System Support reporting to the Program Leader, Integrated Operations Planning and Project Manager, Weir Pool reporting to Program Leader, River and Floodplains are located in Berri or Adelaide. The positions are responsible for project management, planning, investigations and advice on issues related to environmental water management in South Australia. This includes providing input to communication materials and activities, and engagement with Traditional owners; key stakeholders and the wider community.

The Project Officer, System Support position is part of a team that is responsible for the coordinated delivery of tools and processes to support decision making for integrated environmental water management in the SA River Murray as part of South Australian Riverland Floodplains Integrated Infrastructure Program (SARFIIP). This specifically involves providing input into the development of technical documents as well as providing specialist advice to ensure successful completion of SARFIIP activities within the allocated budget and time periods.

The Project Manager, Weir Pool position is part of a team that is responsible for the development, implementation various components of floodplain and wetland management in the SA Riverland. This specifically involves the delivery of the Weir Pool Manipulation program including aspects that relate to SARFIIP under broad direction. The role will be responsible for leading the project management and procurement management of technical investigations and monitoring and evaluation activities, preparation of environmental watering proposals, as well as providing specialist advice to ensure successful completion and long term operating strategies of the SARFIIP Weir Pool activities within the allocated budget and time periods.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties
  • A current class "C" drivers licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential
  • Some out of hours work, inter and intrastate and remote travel involving overnight absences may be required

Remuneration: ASO6 - $92,784 - $98,143 p.a.
