About
the role:
The
Coordinator, Governance and Policy is responsible for coordinating
the delivery of the Department’s governance responsibilities
under the
Native
Vegetation Act (SA) 1991 and Native Vegetation Regulations (SA)
2017.
As part of
this role the incumbent is responsible for:
- Overseeing and managing
the governance requirements of the Native Vegetation Act (SA)
1991 and regulations by providing specialist governance and
policy advice to the Native Vegetation Council and its
committee.
- Providing a high level
secretariat for the Native Vegetation Council and its
committee.
- Managing
the Department’s responsibilities relating to delegations
under the Native Vegetation Act (SA) 1991 by ensuring
compliance with the relevant delegations.
- Drafting
briefings and making recommendations for the Minister, Native
Vegetation Council and its committees relating to the
Departments legislative obligations under the Native Vegetation
Act (SA) 1991 and associated regulations.
- Developing and
maintaining publications, guidelines, templates and website
content to support the operation of the Native Vegetation Act
(SA) 1991 and regulations.
- Establishing and
maintaining partnerships with a diverse range stakeholders to
ensure the effectiveness of the delivery of the Native
Vegetation Act (SA) 1991 and regulations.
- Specialist legislative
and policy advice to inform decision making by Government, the
Native Vegetation Council and its committees, DEW regional
staff and key stakeholders regarding the Act and
regulations.
- Supporting the Manager,
Native Vegetation, in providing governance and policy support
to assist the delivery of native vegetation programs and
initiatives.
To be
successful in this position you must have demonstrated knowledge
and understanding of legislation and policy governing Native
Vegetation, South Australian Planning and Development processes and
experience in providing professional secretariat support to a
statutory Board and/or Committee is desirable.
Special Conditions:

Current
class “C” driver’s licence and willingness to
drive desirable.

Some Inter
and intrastate and remote area travel is required.

May be
required to participate in fire management or associated
duties.

May be
required to work outside of the normal hours of
work.

This role
has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the
standards required in the Australian Government Protective
Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you
consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a
National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department
requiring you to obtain an NPC.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications in
environmental science, natural resources management or
equivalent are desirable.
Contract: This is a part-time position which will be
offered at 0.5TFE (18.75 hours per week) up to 8 October
2021.
Remuneration: ASO6 - $92,784 min - $98,143 max per annum
pro rata.
