the Branch:
The Botanic Gardens and State
Herbarium (BGSH) is formed under the auspices of the Botanic
Gardens and State Herbarium Act (1978). The Botanic Gardens have
established living collections of plants exhibiting botanical
diversity and the State Herbarium is a scientific collection of
more than 1 million plant specimens from South Australia and
globally, housed in the Historic Building, the Old Tram Barn, on
the grounds of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
The mission for the Botanic
Gardens and State Herbarium is to ‘build an understanding and
appreciation of the botanical world’ providing life-long
experiences across generations.
About
the Role:
The Senior
Project Officer, Business Improvement is responsible for driving
the development, delivery and reporting of key governance
programmes to support the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium
business objectives and ensure compliance with state and national
standards. A key aspect of the role includes coordinating and
leveraging cross programme scientific expertise and technical
advice to create integrated and high quality evidence based outputs
and to manage partnerships, support policy and procedure, delivery
and compliance.
To be
considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate the
following:
- In-depth current knowledge and grasp of
all relevant aspects of project management including engaging
with stakeholders, scoping project outcomes and setting
timelines.
- A fundamental understanding of the
principles of undertaking investigative studies on both
familiar and unfamiliar issues using qualitative and
quantitative research methods.
- Ability to write fluently, conveying
complex information in a way that the reader will easily
understand its message.
Special
Conditions:
- A
current class “C” driver’s licence and
willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is
essential.
- May be
required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work
outside of the normal hours of work.
- This
role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the
standards required in the Australian Government Protective
Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you
consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a
National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department
requiring you to obtain an NPC.
- May be
required to participate in fire management or associated
duties.
Contract:
This is a full time position which will be offered up to 30 June
2022.
Remuneration:
ASO6 $92,784 min - $98,143 max per annum.
