Job Description:
The  position of Construction and Maintenance worker is responsible for undertaking a range of construction and maintenance activities for  guest facilities and park environs at Cleland Wildlife Park, ensuring they are maintained appropriately and presented to a high standard.  This covers a diverse array of working environments and it is important that the successful applicant demonstrates a good working knowledge of the principles relating to construction and maintenance work with the ability to operate and maintain a wide range of plant and machinery. The role will also be required to assist with maintaining the gum plantations including the cutting and delivery of browse for the koala collection, as required.

Casual contract for up to 12 months

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties
  • This role is based at Cleland Wildlife Park
  • The incumbent will be required to wear a uniform and protective clothing in accordance with Departmental policy
  • Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential
  • Weekend work will be required
  • Demonstrates ability to work alone and be self-reliant.
  • This role has functions pertaining to working with children and is prescribed under the Children’s Protection Act, 1993 as requiring a Criminal History Assessment. Applicants must have and provide, or be in the process of obtaining, a Working with Children Check.

CMW4 $27.41 min - $27.72 max per hour + 25% casual loading
