About the opportunity:

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and motivated Communications professional for a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Communication and Marketing Team at the Department for Energy and Mining. 

As a Senior Communications Officer, you will provide high level and expert advice and services to various business units across the department. You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing high quality communications and engagement activities that support implementation of the DEM communications and marketing strategy and the objectives of the department. In particular, contributing to the implementation of communications and engagement activities that align with the Hydrogen sector, and more broadly - Upper Spencer Gulf projects Hydrogen projects.

The nature of the working environment is high profile, complex, scrutinised and of high priority to the state and federal government.

Key selection criteria:
Please only address the dot points listed below in your application

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies, including identifying risk mitigation strategies, setting and monitoring KPIs, and summarising data and information into succinct reports.
  • Creative thinker who is a self-starter and effective problem-solver, with strong organisational skills to manage multiple, concurrent matters within deadlines.
  • Experience in strategic engagement and communications. Ability to convey information in a manner accessible to a range of stakeholders via a range of channels, including but not limited to, social media, website content, publications, newsletters etc.


Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area including journalism, marketing, communications with relevant experience is highly desirable. 
  • Iap2 Australasia Certificate in Engagement is desirable (but not necessary). 


Remuneration:
ASO6 $95,588 - $101,109 per annum
Full time role, working 37.5 hours per week
