About the opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Policy Officer in the Resource Planning and Engagement branch.  The Senior Policy Officer is responsible for providing expert input into the development of policy, standards and procedures that supports the achievement of the governments mineral resources exploration and development targets. The Senior Policy Officer delivers expert leadership for the delivery and continuous improvement of policies and leads legislative reviews that require significant levels of consultation with industry, community and government stakeholders.

Key selection criteria:

  • Sound experience in policy development and in preparing briefings and sensitive reports.
  • Sound working knowledge of public sector reform practices and issues pertaining to the sustainable development of the State.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills resulting in effective and appropriate communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently or as a team member, under limited direction, exercise a high level of judgement and identify and deal with competing priorities to achieve critical objectives within deadlines.


Qualifications:
Desirable - An appropriate tertiary qualification


Remuneration:
ASO7 $103,387 - $111,759 per annum
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
