About the Team:
The Business Assurance and
Operations team plays a key role within the Water Infrastructure
and Operations (WIO) branch by providing finance, human resources,
project assurance and general business advice and operations that
enables the delivery of significant programs and projects across
the State.
About the Role:
Take up the challenge of
this unique finance role to extend and grow your finance skills and
experience. Your interpersonal skills will come to the fore as you
partner with project staff and deliver specialised financial
advice, support and oversight to multi-million-dollar project(s).
You will work with a significant degree of professional autonomy to
support our project teams, particularly in overseeing compliance of
the financial components within funding agreements. You will also
be part of a collaborative and supportive team of finance and
business staff, working closely with the branch Governance team and
Corporate Finance, in the joint delivery of finance functions.
Your success relies on your interpersonal and communication skills
that enables you to develop strong networks and relationships to
achieve a partnered approach to budget management and oversight.
You will have significant experience in management accounting,
preferably in government and your ability to be solutions focused,
collaborative and enthusiastic will ensure you are the right fit
for our team!
What can a day in the role can look like…..
- Joint development and oversight of multi-million-dollar
project budgets through regular meetings with project staff and
Managers.
- Developing, reviewing, and overseeing the finance
components of project documentation including briefings,
funding agreements, workplans and progress reporting.
- Rigorously analysing, reconciling and reporting to align
funding agreement project budgets and DTF Forward Estimate
budgets.
- Identifying risks and opportunities and discussing options,
providing advice, and making recommendations.
- Responding to queries from funding partners by
investigating funding agreements, workplans, project budgets
and progress reports.
- Preparing financial acquittals and assisting with external
audit processes.
- Maintaining system information including journals, budget
adjustments, carryovers etc.

Contract:
This is a merit pool and successful applicants may be offered
positions on a term basis according to business needs over the next
12 months.
Special Conditions:
- A current National Police Clearance is essential.
- Some out of hours work may be required.
Remuneration:
ASO6 $98,478 min - $104,165 max p.a.
