About the Role:

We currently an exciting ongoing vacancy for a Senior Hydrometric Officer to join the Water Science and Monitoring branch.

The Senior Hydrometric Officer is responsible for the collection and entry of hydrological data into information systems; contributing vital information to help the South Australian Government manage potential impacts on its water resources and assets. The role contributes towards complex data analysis and prepares initial reports for each dataset aligning with set standards and procedures. A key component of the role includes responsibility for assisting with the development of plans and reports; contributing to all project outcomes as directed.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
  • May be required to work outside of the normal hours of work including weekends, and public holidays.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain a National Police Clearance (NPC).
  • A current 'C' class driver's licence is essential.
  • Required to be a State Authorised Officer under the Landscapes South Australia Act 2019.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel for extended periods.
  • An Inland waters coxswain certificate with the ability to swim is an essential requirement. ​

Remuneration: OPS3 - $67,589 min - $72,033 max p.a.
