About the Role:
The Finance Officer works
closely with the Management Accountant and Business Manager to
provide quality financial and budgetary services to Branch, Unit
and line managers within the Division, to assist the business to
operate efficiently and maintain a robust internal control
framework. The role provides relevant financial analysis, reports
and general finance advice to support client managers.
- Budget processes are coordinated across branches and units,
including providing staff and management with accurate
information, account codes and templates, uploading budgets and
reconciling budgets to the general ledger.
- Staff and Managers are provided with responsive and
accurate data analysis, general advice and support on financial
and budget management matters.
- Financial reports and documentation for acquittals of grant
funded projects are produced accurately and in a timely
manner.
- Financial data and reports are extracted from relevant
systems and data and transactions are assessed for accuracy,
reviewed against budget and deviation investigated.
- Branch financial data and other asset related information
is accurately input, maintained and updated to support the
management of assets, including the preparation to transfer
assets out of Capital Work in Progress (CWIP) or expense of
non- asset items.
- End of year requirements are coordinated and completed
through the preparation, interrogation and verification of
financial information, addressing errors, omissions and
discrepancies.
- Quality relationships with key business contacts throughout
the Branch and agency are built and maintained to facilitate
compliance and education in relation to departmental financial
policies and procedures.
- Internal controls and financial
policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are followed
within the business areas serviced.

Contract:
3 months
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in fire management or
associated duties.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and
work outside of the normal hours of work.
- Interchange between other Finance roles at the same
classification when business needs arise, or when requested by
senior Finance staff.
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust
pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government
Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role
you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a
National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department
requiring you to obtain an NPC.
Remuneration:
ASO4 $76,561 min - $80,256 max p.a.
