About the role

We have a unique opportunity for a dedicated Genitourinary Cancer Nurse Consultant to join our team at CALHN. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical nursing care, education, and support to individuals diagnosed with a range of genitourinary malignancies including bladder, kidney, penile, and testicular cancers. With a significant degree of autonomy, you'll use national and international standards to shape and enhance the Genitourinary Nurse role within our services, ensuring excellence in patient outcomes and care pathways.

As an experienced clinical leader, you'll actively contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, nurse-led clinics, and the ongoing development of services across CALHN. You'll play a key role in mentoring staff, leading projects, and promoting best practice in the care of patients with genitourinary cancers. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate nurse to drive quality improvement initiatives and deliver meaningful, patient-centred care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About You
You will be a highly motivated and experienced nurse, passionate about delivering expert, person-centred care for individuals with genitourinary malignancies. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a practising certificate.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in Oncology care, particularly managing patients with genitourinary cancers and coordinating complex care needs.
  • A commitment to innovation, staff development, and quality improvement, with sound knowledge of relevant legislation, clinical standards, and contemporary healthcare issues.
