experienced professional Botanic Garden Operations Manager to join
our dynamic team at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, where
your expertise will help cultivate knowledge and preserve our

- Horticultural Excellence: lead botanic garden operational
and horticultural programs with knowledge, skill and

- Living Collections Development Support: Assist in
ground-breaking research, knowledge and horticultural

- Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with the other
likeminded Horticulturalists, Botanists, and Curators to
enhance our knowledge and botanic garden management
strategies.

use of our collections and knowledge.

Contract:
Ongoing Contract
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualifications in natural resource management, botany or
horticulture (Degree or Advanced Diploma as appropriate).
- Significant and at least five years' senior leadership
experience in botanic gardens operational management,
specifically for horticulture and living collections.
Special Conditions:
- Will be required to participate in fire management and
associated duties.
- Current class “C” driver’s licence and
willingness and ability to safely operate manual and 4wd
vehicles is essential.
- Demonstrates ability to work alone and be
self-reliant.
- Will be required to work at all BGSH botanic garden
estates.
- May require some intra/interstate travel and working at
various locations within the BGSH.
- Will be required to attend to call outs, which may be
outside of normal work hours, including nights, weekends and
public holidays.
- Maintain Senior First Aid Certificate and apply first aid
as required.
- This role has functions pertaining to working with children
and is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person)
Act 2016 as requiring a Working With Children Check (WWCC). By

appropriate behaviour and to the Department obtaining, or
requiring you to obtain a WWCC.
Remuneration:
ASO7, $108,109 min - $116,864 max p.a.
