About the Role:
Seasonal
Fire Crew (OPS2) are primarily employed to support
DEW’s fire management operations, and will
support and guide a small team to undertake a range of
fire preparedness, prevention, response, and land
management activities. This involves a range of outdoor
activities including working in demanding and sometimes
remote environments for periods of time. The role may
at times also assist with emergency management
response.

Special Conditions
- Will be required to participate in fire
management or associated duties, including
prescribed burning and emergency operations.
- A current class “C” (minimum P2)
driver’s licence and willingness and ability
to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Will be required to wear a uniform and
appropriate PPE in accordance with Departmental
policy.
- Must be physically fit and will be required to
undertake a fitness assessment to a minimum of
“moderate” (B) level Firefighting Role
Classification as per the DEW Fire Management
Policy and Procedures.
- Will be required to undertake intrastate/
interstate and remote area travel which may require
the incumbent to be away from home for extended
periods.
- Will be required to work outside of the normal
hours of work including weekends, public holidays
and days of significant fire danger.
- Will be required to participate on a roster
system for duties associated with emergency
response including on call and standby
arrangements.
- A flexible approach to duty hours and the
taking of leave is essential.
- This role has been designated as a Position of
Trust pursuant to the standards required in the
Australian Government Protective Security Policy
Framework. By applying for this role you consent to
being screened under the process of obtaining a
National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the
Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.

Remuneration
OPS2 $58,709 -
$63,154 per annum
