About the Role:

  • DEW's Geospatial Improvement Program related initiatives and projects are strategically planned, delivered and evaluated and DEW's geospatial platforms and services are documented to better inform the agency's foundational, functional and regulatory business activities.
  • Strategic, and user-friendly geospatial frameworks, procedures and standards are developed, and documented, to support the establishment and delivery of transparent governance of DEW's geospatial platforms, systems, data and services in-line with expected delivery outcomes.
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication plans are initiated, delivered and monitored to ensure DEW stakeholders, including key geospatial partners, are engaged through DEW's Geospatial Improvement Program for the provision of fit for purpose geospatial platforms and services.
  • A key point of contact service is provided to DEW business units and regions in the delivery of future- state geospatial platform.
  • Governance programs, practices and processes are developed, implemented and evaluated to ensure that future state geospatial data and information products support efficient workflows for DEW business functions and the digital transformation of DEW's business.
  • Complex stakeholder analysis and progress reporting is developed and delivered and expert advice is provided to DEW leaders, staff and its partners in relation to DEW's geospatial strategy and its integration with DEW business.

Contract: 
Up to 2 years

Essential Qualifications:
Qualifications in Spatial Science, Natural Resource Management, or a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
  • A current class “C" driver's licence.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.

Remuneration: 
ASO7 $108,109 min - $116,864 max p.a.
