Overview
You will be required to provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients at the Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service. This will be achieved both in terms of individual performance and by clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. You will provide a professional medical service in accordance with Regional, Hospital and departmental policy manuals and documents, and with the professional standards of the Australasian College for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As part of your role, you will participate in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities, as well as relevant research and continuous medical education activities. As a Consultant, you will be expected to have an active involvement in teaching Trainee Medical Officers, interns and medical students and, where appropriate, nursing and allied health staff. Mount Gambier, South Australia's second largest city, is located on the gorgeous Limestone Coast, and has all the services and facilities you would expect from metropolitan living along with all the benefits of country living.
You will hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and possess appropriate specialist qualifications to be registrable as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. This will be supported by proven experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology patient management. You will bring the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and establish effective local and regional links. Displaying a high degree of professional integrity, you will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and quality assurance activities.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
