About the Role Working under general direction, you will assist Medical and Nursing staff by performing a full range of duties both inside and outside of the Operating Theatre area. These duties will include transportation and positioning of patients, set-up, collection and delivery of theatre equipment, and associated cleaning and ancillary duties. Ensuring the availability of specific equipment as required, you will assist with positioning equipment, tourniquets, electro-surgery equipment, monitors, cameras, microscopes, plaster trolleys, insufflators, extra trolleys and hand tables required for scheduled procedures in consultation with the Operating Theatre team. You will also prepare beds to receive post-operative patients, changing linen as necessary and applying electric blanket, drip stand and cot sides when appropriate. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital provides health services by means of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services using the most modern available methods of assessment and treatment in medical, surgical, mental health, allied health and other techniques. Emphasis is placed on continuity of care before and after hospitalisation and care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team. With previous experience working in a hospital environment, you will bring the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Self-motivated and physically fit to perform the manual handling requirements of the role, you will need to be punctual and reliable in attendance. As well as being willing and able to work any hospital roster, you will be fluent in reading, writing and speaking English and be capable of communicating effectively with people.
