About the Role:
We are excited to be calling for a senior level Wildlife
Ecologist to support our Adelaide based workgroup. The Wildlife
Ecologist works with a diversity of internal and external partners
(e.g. government, NGOs, research institutes, industry, landholders,
broader community) to design and implement high profile wildlife
conservation and management projects. The role will suit an
Ecologist who is familiar with species recovery planning, highly
motivated and passionate about wildlife conservation and
management.

Contract: Temporary Backfill Contract up to 8
months
Essential Qualifications:
A degree in the field of ecology, biodiversity
management, natural resource management (or related field) and
relevant higher qualification or extensive relevant discipline
experience is essential.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in responses to state
emergencies or associated duties.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or
provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows
you to work in Australia without restrictions.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and
willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is
essential.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel,
occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal
hours of work.
Remuneration: PO3 ($101,285 min - $107,078
max)

Applicants are to submit a pre-employment declaration, current CV
and letter of application (max. 3 pages) addressing the five (5)
skills/capabilities (including qualifications) as outlined
below:
• Experience in leading threatened species
conservation and recovery planning processes (particular experience
with translocation planning is also considered beneficial and worth
mentioning).
• Experience in the management of native species
that can impact on the community and the environment.
• Experience in project management that includes
budget management and reporting responsibilities.
• Ability to write fluently, conveying complex
information to a diverse range of audiences.
• Extensive working knowledge of native flora and
fauna species (relevant to South Australia or the
Adelaide region is advantageous).
• A degree in the field of ecology, biodiversity
management, natural resource management (or related field) and
relevant higher qualification or extensive relevant discipline
experience is essential.
