Site and Service: Whyalla Hospital Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia. It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside of the region for care. It is also, one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role: The Clinical Nurse (RN/M2C) role provides an outstanding opportunity for experienced nurses to strengthen their clinical expertise while stepping into greater leadership responsibility. Building on a strong foundation of practice, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care while mentoring and supporting less experienced staff. This role includes overseeing delegated activities, maintaining professional standards, and contributing to service improvement through portfolio responsibilities aligned to your career aspirations. It offers a dynamic environment that supports continued growth, skill development and progression within the organisation. The Registered Nurse (RN/M1) role is well suited to nurses who are consolidating their clinical knowledge and advancing from novice to proficient practice. In this position, you will further develop your skills through hands-on experience and ongoing professional development, while remaining accountable for your own standards of care and delegated activities. Working collaboratively within a supportive team, you will focus on delivering safe, person-centred care while building the confidence and capability required for future leadership opportunities.
