About the role The Executive Director, Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC) delivers educational leadership and coordination to facilitate the effective operation and management of the PYEC, which supports and ensures the continued involvement of Anangu community members in school issues, and policy or curriculum direction, across the Anangu Lands. The Executive Director, PYEC is responsible for delivering a range of effective and timely strategic advice and information to the Education Director, and a range of other government stakeholders and service providers operating within the Anangu Lands in order to support the ongoing achievement of PYEC goals and objectives. The Executive Director, PYEC will provide an effective education and governance advocacy and support role for Anangu Lands schools. This ensures their continued successful engagement with the department’s educational services, including identifying and addressing relevant opportunities, risks and issues to support the achievement of educational goals and objectives. The Executive Director, PYEC will fulfill the requirements of the PYEC and Department for Education South Australia’s 2024 Agreement. They will contribute to the successful delivery of the Department’s Strategy for Public Education by offering timely guidance, responsive leadership, and active support in implementing assigned initiatives.
Essential: Nil Highly Desirable: Fluency in Pitjantjatjara or Yankunytjatjara and English. Desirable: A relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in education or related field. Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
