About the role The Senior Pharmacist – Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) works within a pharmacy team to provide clinical leadership and specialist expertise to optimise antimicrobial use and support safe, evidence-based prescribing across the organisation. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the role drives stewardship initiatives to improve patient outcomes, reduce antimicrobial resistance, and ensure compliance with national standards and accreditation requirements. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead a designated pharmacy area and deliver a comprehensive, high level clinical pharmacy service. Provide expert medicines information and therapeutic advice while supporting safe, effective and cost conscious use of medicines across the hospital. Working closely with pharmacists, technicians and multidisciplinary teams, you will support patient care and service delivery. You will liaise with clinicians and community providers, applying independent judgement to optimise outcomes and maintain high standards of pharmacy practice. About You You’re an experienced hospital pharmacist ready to lead service delivery and support safe, high quality patient care. You bring strong clinical knowledge, leadership capability and excellent communication skills. • Bachelor of Pharmacy and eligible for Board registration • Experience in hospital pharmacy and service leadership • Communicate well and work across multidisciplinary teams • Analyse data and drive service improve initiatives About us Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia.
