Lockleys Children's Centre is an integrated service offering a range of early childhood education, care and allied health services for children and their families alongside government preschool. At Lockleys Children's Centre we have a rpoud history of providing high-quality early childhood programs to the community. We work with families to make a learning program for all children. We offer many opportunities and programs for our families to connect with our centre. 

We are currently seeking an Early Childhood Worker to join our team! 

The ECW 2 will be working 1:1 with a child with high, complex needs; global development delay, likely AASD and very limited verbal communication. The ECW must have experience working with children with special needs and will be an active member of the preschool team and support a workplace culture that values high standards, critical reflection and ongoing learning. 

What you will bring: 

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience and skill supporting young children with autism and communication delays and complex needs. This would include knowledge and experience to implement an individual learning plan and associated strategies such as using visuals, supporting self-regulation and sensory processing
  • Demonstrated initiative, well developed organisational skills and self-motivation. Able to work independently with limited supervision, implementing an individual learning plan tailored to the needs of the child.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an approved diploma of education and care qualification (refer to ACECQA website for lists of approved qualifications). Consideration will be given to applicants with a disability support qualification who do currently hold an ACECQA approved qualification
  • Qualifications in special education or other relevant qualifications, or equivalent experience in working with and teaching children with autism is desirable
