Are you looking for a meaningful administrative role where your skills directly contribute to the community? We're recruiting a Court Officer for Christies Beach Magistrates Court.

A Day in the Life 

As a Court Officer, your day typically begins with greeting colleagues before the courthouse opens to the public. You'll assist customers both at the counter and over the phone, supporting them with document lodgements and processing online submissions. Much of your work involves computer-based tasks - managing court cases in our systems, handling email correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. You may help parties with signing legal paperwork and assist the court by ensuring everything runs smoothly. Once the courthouse is closed for the day, you'll complete any final administrative tasks before heading home. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing digital court documents and electronic filing systems 
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of court records and case management databases 
  • Providing professional assistance to judicial officers, legal professionals, and court users 
  • Coordinating and scheduling court proceedings 
  • Delivering responsive customer service in sometimes challenging situations

Remuneration 

ASO2 classification salary range: $64,195 to $67,154 pa plus superannuation. 

Position Details 

  • Temporary positions available for up to 12 months with possibility of extension 
  • Christies Beach location 
  • Full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week) 
  • Appointment under the Courts Administration Act 1993 
  • Terms and conditions governed by the Public Sector Act 2009 

Special Conditions 

  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate (NPC) is required before any offer of employment can be made. While this is not needed for the application or interview stages, we encourage candidates to apply for this check early due to processing times. If you already possess a current NPC, please mention this in your application. 
  • As a justice agency, the CAA may consider spent convictions as part of selection 
  • May be appointed as a Deputy Registrar and/or Deputy Sheriff 
  • Some out-of-hours work may occasionally be required
