About the Role:
The Hydrologist provides
professional hydrological advice and services to support the
planning and management of the South Australia's surface water
resources. The role acquires, assesses and assures the quality of
hydrological data, and applies established hydrological tools and
applications to evaluate and analyse that data in support of
evidence-based management decisions. The position contributes to
projects and programs across a range of surface water systems,
including the River Murray, and provides specialist hydrological
input to key Department for Environment and Water initiatives.
Experience in either River Murray or arid area hydrology is
desirable.

Contract:
This is a merit pool and successful applicants may be offered a
role over the next 12 months based on business needs.
Essential and Desirable Criteria (including
qualifications):
- A university degree in in engineering, natural resources,
science or equivalent, with emphasis on hydrology is
essential.
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications are desirable.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence is desirable.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in emergency preparedness,
response and recovery activities required by government
agencies.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or
provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows
you to work in Australia.
- Inter and intrastate and remote area travel is required,
including travel in light aircraft.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel,
occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal
hours of work.
A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the
Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an
original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid
Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within
the last 12 months. This information must be supplied by all
applicants who are shortlisted for interview.
Remuneration:
PO2 $94,769 min - $109,787 max p.a.
