About the role

Provide specialist expertise in gendered violence, complex trauma and risk assessment to support SA Health’s Multi Agency Protection Service (MAPS). Work collaboratively with health services and community agencies to improve responses and outcomes for people experiencing domestic and family violence, while contributing to training, service development and continuous quality improvement.

Key duties of the role

  • Apply specialist expertise in gendered violence, complex trauma and DFV risk assessment to support MAPS multi-agency analysis, information sharing and service responses within SA Health frameworks.
  • Conduct and contribute to comprehensive DFV risk assessments, ensuring appropriate clinical judgement, evidence-based recommendations and referral pathways across health and partner agencies.
  • Deliver education, training and capability development for health staff and stakeholders, supporting improved sector responses to DFV and service integration.
  • Contribute to service coordination, documentation, data collection and reporting to support accountability, evaluation and continuous improvement of MAPS program outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and interagency teams, promoting integrated responses, quality improvement, consumer feedback and ongoing service development.

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate degree qualification with eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience in DFV risk assessment, clinical judgement and provision of evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic responses.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and interagency settings.
  • Sound knowledge of gendered violence, complex trauma, feminist and trauma-informed frameworks, and their application within health service contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training, contribute to quality improvement and work confidently within complex systems including DFV policy, mandatory reporting and information sharing requirements.
