The Opportunity 
The Safety Management System (SMS) Coordinator is part of a collaborative team within Public Transport South Australia (PTSA). In this role, you will coordinate the continuous improvement and implementation of the SMS, providing specialist advice and support to operational teams.

You will lead and contribute to projects, policy development, and system enhancements, while delivering high quality reporting and recommendations. Your work will support safe, efficient and sustainable public transport outcomes and contribute to ongoing planning, assurance and continuous improvement across PTSA’s operations.

About you
You are an experienced professional with a proven ability to deliver programs under broad direction. You apply sound judgement, act with urgency and provide practical, innovative solutions to complex issues. With strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you deliver customer-focused outcomes, manage risk, and contribute to policy, systems and continuous improvement initiatives across a dynamic operating environment.

Educational Qualification / Licences

  • Qualifications in Safety Management and/or Quality Management will be highly regarded.
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety or Certificate IV Quality/Safety will be highly regarded.
  • A current Driver’s Licence.

Special Conditions

  • A National Police Check (NPC) which is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport and is required to be renewed every three years.
  • Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

Remuneration
ASO7 - $112,163 to $121,246 pa + superannuation.
