The IMPACT you will drive at the SACE Board

Education Consultants are system leaders who drive subject renewal and curriculum innovation across the SACE. They lead the development, recognition, and implementation of curriculum, assessment, and quality assurance, ensuring rigor, consistency, and integrity in student outcomes. Working in partnership with schools, stakeholders, and the wider community, they bring expertise in change and co‑design to strengthen practice, support high‑quality assessment, and maximise student success. Through expert advice and leadership of quality assurance processes, Education Consultants play a critical role in safeguarding the credibility of student results and certification.

What you will BRING

  • A strong passion for education and a commitment to improving student outcomes through the SACE quality assurance cycle (Planning, Clarifying, Confirming and Improving).
  • Deep expertise in the theory and practice of curriculum design, assessment, and quality assurance.
  • A sound understanding of national and international trends in curriculum, assessment, and educational quality.
  • Proven experience leading change and working in partnership with school leaders, teachers, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusted, collaborative relationships and professional networks.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and apply quality assurance processes with rigour and consistency.
  • Confidence working in complexity, with the capacity to lead adaptive change in uncertain and evolving contexts.
  • Subject expertise in one or more faculty areas, including Arts and Pathways, English and Languages, Health and Humanities, and/or Science and Mathematics.

Qualifications

An appropriate tertiary degree in education and/or training is essential.

Special Conditions

  • Some out-of-hours work.
  • Intrastate travel to regional and remote locations / interstate travel may be required.
  • A current driver’s licence is desirable.
  • The incumbent works under the SACE Board of South Australia Act 1983.
  • An intense time of activity within the SACE Board of South Australia occurs between October and December.  For some roles, the incumbent would not normally be able to take planned leave during this period.
  • Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Working with Children Check from the Department of Human Services and in accordance with the SACE Board policy.

Remuneration

ASO7 classification level $112,163 - $121,246 per annum plus super and access to attractive salary packaging.

There are multiple positions available until January 2027.
