As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.  

This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child’s life.   

About this role: 

The Senior Data and Funding Officer will develop and implement the data collection, analysis, payment and monitoring processes and systems associated with South Australia’s preschool delivery across the government and non-government sectors.

 

Your Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the State Government’s preschool funding arrangements through associated planning and evaluation of providers’ performance
  • Develop and implement approaches to monitor preschool services’ funding and expenditure against approved budget
  • Provide strategic advice related to funding policy and implementation across Flying Start and Preschool Reform Agreement funded services
  • Manage and maintain processes for data collection, analysis, payment and monitoring processes to support OECD in stewardship of preschool funding arrangements.

 

About you:

You will bring extensive experience project management, including in leading and implementing critical projects within agreed timelines and available resources to ensure successful project outcomes.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex data collection and management systems
  • Excellent project management skills, including implementing strategies for monitoring outcomes for development
  • High level of communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively with people at levels in a professional, confidential and tactful manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction in a highly effective manner whilst managing high volumes of work, changing priorities and meeting critical deadlines in a complex reform environment

Remuneration:

ASO7 - $112,163 - $121,246 (1.0 FTE) per annum, plus superannuation.

Additional Note:

This is a full-time 2-year long term contract role (1.0 FTE) with potential to be made ongoing.
