About the Role:
The Electronics Technical Officer is
responsible, under limited supervision, for assisting the Water
Resource Monitoring Unit (WRMU) in the collection of valid surface
water and/or ground water data and entering data into appropriate
information systems. The incumbent is also responsible for
supporting the WRMU by conducting a range of technical duties
associated with installing and maintaining technical equipment and
undertaking laboratory work such as constructing and maintaining
basic electronic circuits and monitoring platforms comprising of a
variety of electronic instruments and associated modules. The
incumbent may also be required to lead small projects relating to
the work of the unit.

Contract:
Up to 31 January 2027
Essential Qualifications:
An appropriate Technical Qualification relevant to the position
such as a Trade Certificate, Diploma in Electronics or a related
industry and or Natural Resource Management qualification.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in responses to state
emergencies or associated duties
- A current class “C" driver's licence and willingness and
ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Inter and intrastate and remote area travel is required,
including travel in light aircraft.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or
provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows
you to work in Australia without restrictions.
- This role requires a Nationally Coordinated Criminal
History Check which must be renewed every three years.
A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the
Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an
original photo identification document sighted and provide a
valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued
within the last 12 months.
Remuneration:
TGO1 $68,481 min - $74,032 max p.a.
