Remuneration: AHP3 ($112,139 - $120,284) / PO3 ($108,087 - $115,936) p.a. + 12% superannuation 

Our Port Lincoln office is seeking an experienced Social Worker or Professional Officer (Case Manager) to join the team in a Supervisory role. In this position, you will provide leadership, coaching and professional guidance to foster strong social work practice and help shape services that are inclusive, culturally respectful and responsive to the needs of the local community.

This is a single vacancy offered under a dual classification, meaning it may be filled by either an experienced, qualified Social Worker (AHP3) or Professional Officer (PO3) depending on the qualification and suitability of the successful applicant.

Salary
AHP3: $112,139 - $120,284 p.a. + 12% super
+4% child protection allowance
+regional financial incentive 
+Qualification Allowance may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role.

PO3: $108,087 - $115,936 p.a. + 12% super
+additional child protection allowance

Essential Qualifications:

  • AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • PO (Professional Officer) positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or other related fields.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background or skills but do not have the essential qualifications, are highly encouraged to apply.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive high-quality social work and case management practice
  • Lead the development of inclusive, accessible and culturally responsive services
  • Support a healthy team culture through proactive leadership, coaching and staff support
  • Contribute to strategic planning, service improvement and operational priorities across the agency
  • Build partnerships with other agencies and community groups to improve coordinated support and responses.

You are an experienced and supportive leader who knows how to bring out the best in people. You build strong relationships through clear communication, collaboration and empathy, and provide guidance and support to help your team manage competing priorities and deliver positive outcomes.

You are confident leading culturally responsive practice and using your understanding of child development, attachment and trauma-informed approaches to support children, young people and families. You value teamwork, create a safe and inclusive work environment, and are passionate about developing staff capability and wellbeing.

Special Conditions:

  • You must have a current Working With Children Check
  • You must have a current Australian driver’s licence (P2 or above) and a willingness to drive.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
