Opportunity for a Director Education, Allied Health to join our team
As the Director, Allied Health Education, you will lead the strategic direction, coordination and delivery of allied health professional education, training and development across SALHN by fostering an organisational culture that embeds clinical supervision, reflective practice and continuous improvement as core elements of high-quality, safe clinical care.
You will initiate, lead and oversee innovation and system level change to respond to emerging educational workforce and service delivery requirements.
About the role:
As the Director of Allied Health Education, you will report to the Executive Director Allied Health & Intermediate Care. Some of your duties may involve:
Integrating contemporary research evidence, data and professional expertise to inform and influence executive level decision making and workforce strategy.
Ensuring education and training programs are contemporary, evidence-based and responsive to current and future allied health service and workforce needs.
Maintaining strategic oversight of allied health clinical placements, induction and orientation programs, interprofessional learning opportunities and communities of practice across SALHN.
Leading the establishment and sustainment of learning cultures across span of control that embed lifelong learning, reflective practice and supervision as core component of safe, high-quality care.
Setting education and training direction and foals for allied health in conjunction with the Executive Director Allied Health and Intermediate Care Services that align with the allied health workforce strategy and service priorities.
About you:
Bachelor's Degree in an Allied Health Discipline, or equivalent qualification enabling registration with the relevant board or eligibility for membership of the progressional association (for non-registered professions), specifically:
Occupational Therapy.
Physiotherapy.
Speech Pathology.
Dietitian.
Social Work.
Podiatry.
Master's in Clinical or Health Psychology.
Human movements, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective.
At least 5 years clinical experience as an allied health professional working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience as a leader or manager in the healthcare industry.
Experience in leading services or organisations through times of extensive change.
Experience in applying contemporary management processes and practices in a healthcare setting.
Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
