This role will be filled as at either the ASO4 or ASO5 classification level, depending on the preferred candidate's experience, knowledge and skillset.
About the Role
The Project Officer supports and implements the delivery of a broad range of EPA priority projects, focusing on agency wide business processes, continuous improvement, national and state initiatives, and corporate and regulatory reforms. The Project Officer will be responsible for project management, and general support of strategic and business planning and business improvement.
To be successful in the ASO5 role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and managing projects.
- Demonstrated project management skills and knowledge of project management procedures and processes.
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills, preparing reports and other correspondence.
- High level oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consult and liaise with, a broad range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and also independently under broad direction, to manage work within tight timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an agile and adaptive manner, shifting focus as priorities evolve, and providing timely support across multiple projects.
- Proven experience in the preparation of reports, discussion papers, or other documentation for consideration by senior management.
To be successful in the ASO4 role, you will have:
- Knowledge of project management procedures and processes.
- Experience in supporting projects/programs, requiring problem analysis and provision of appropriate recommendation and solutions.
- Proven experience in analysing and researching information, preparing reports, minutes and general correspondence.
- Proven ability to communicate professionally at all levels, in writing and verbally.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight timeframes with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in an agile and adaptive manner, shifting focus as priorities evolve, and providing timely support across multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and to also work independently under direction to achieve results within tight deadlines.

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience
- Project management training or experience.
Remuneration
ASO4 or ASO5 ($82,212 - $102,456 per annum) + 12% super added to your choice of super fund.
Contract
Term contract (until 30 June 2027) and full time (37.5 hours per week).
Special Conditions
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential.
- The incumbent may occasionally be required to travel to sites in country areas and interstate.
- The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
