• Salary: $105,747 - $111,854 per annum (adjusted to hours worked)

• Part time (0.6FTE, 22.5 hrs /week), Temporary (until 31^st December 2027)

 

WHAT ARE WE OFFERING? 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping best practice injury management and return to work outcomes across South Australia's regional public health system. As the Senior Return to Work Consultant, you will work collaboratively with injured workers, Senior Managers, Senior Claims Consultants and Human Resources to drive sustainable return to work outcomes, influence positive workplace culture and support worker wellbeing.  You will provide expert advice on complex injury management matters while contributing to organisational performance, compliance and workforce capability. You will be part of a professional and supportive team, with the opportunity to build strong partnerships across regional Local Health Networks, government stakeholders, healthcare providers and external agencies, and making a meaningful difference to the health, safety and recovery of our workforce.

 

WHO ARE WE? 

The Rural Support Service (RSS) is a business unit in SA Health and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS's three Adelaide offices.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

Are you……

• An experienced injury management and return to work professional with significant expertise in workers compensation, rehabilitation, return to work planning, and the management of complex physical and psychological injury cases.
• A strategic and influential consultant who can provide expert advice to executives, managers, HR, WHS professionals and external stakeholders, driving best practice injury management outcomes across diverse and geographically dispersed workplaces.
• An exceptional relationship builder with proven ability to develop productive partnerships with employees, managers, medical and allied health providers, unions, legal representatives and government stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
• A proactive problem solver who can navigate sensitive and complex matters, identify barriers to recovery and return to work, and implement innovative solutions that support both employee wellbeing and organisational performance.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE? 

You will………. 

• Deliver expert rehabilitation and return to work services, applying early intervention strategies and managing complex cases to maximise recovery, achieve sustainable return to work outcomes and minimise claim costs.
• Deliver job-seeking services, where required, to place into new positions injured workers who cannot return to their pre-injury position due to their work-related injury.
• Organise and host medical case conferences with injured workers, medical providers and (at times) unions and legal representatives, and achieve optimum outcomes.
• Provide specialist advice and consultancy services to executives, managers, HR and WHS professionals on injury management, workforce wellbeing, dispute resolution and strategies to address complex workplace issues.
• Develop and maintain strong stakeholder partnerships, working collaboratively with injured workers, managers, medical practitioners, allied health providers, unions, legal representatives and other parties to remove barriers and achieve positive outcomes for injured workers and the organisation.
