Carclew is seeking a skilled and community-minded Placemaking Lead to help establish and lead an exciting new creative space for children, young people and their adults in the north of Adelaide.

This new initiative will be a welcoming place to make, create, play and connect, a space where children and families feel safe, celebrated, and able to participate in creative, cultural, and social activities. Located within the Swallowcliffe Children’s Precinct, the space will support connection, belonging, imagination and community-led participation.

The Placemaking Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and community development of the space. Working closely with children, families, precinct partners, artists and local organisations, the role will help bring the vision for the space to life through strong relationships, inclusive engagement and practical operational leadership.

This role will suit someone who understands place-based work, has strong community development experience, and can build trust with families, partners and local stakeholders. You will be comfortable coordinating programs, managing competing priorities, supporting co-design and ensuring the space operates safely, inclusively and with community voice at its centre.

This is an opportunity to help shape a new community asset from the ground up and contribute to a creative, child-centred space that reflects the strengths, ideas and aspirations of local children and families.

This is a public sector position offered for an initial term of 2-years.
