About the role
The role provides high-quality nursing care while maintaining professional practice standards and supporting less experienced staff. It assists the Nurse Unit Manager and Regional Team Manager with clinical leadership, service improvements, and day-to-day operational responsibilities.
Key duties of the role
- Provide person-centred clinical nursing care, monitor care outcomes, and oversee the delivery of high-quality nursing services within a multidisciplinary team.
- Support the Regional Team Manager in clinical and operational leadership by coordinating services, resolving service delivery issues, and contributing to change management initiatives.
- Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
- Contribute to clinical improvement activities through auditing, research, evaluation, and the application of evidence-based practice to achieve positive client care outcomes
- Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with the Regional Team Manager or equivalent of the team
Skills and Experience
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practising certificate.
- Minimum 3 years post-registration nursing experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with professional standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work within a multidisciplinary team, and manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, quality improvement systems, and contemporary nursing practice
