WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?  

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Mental Health Nursing Leader to provide clinical, operational and professional leadership within a contemporary mental health service. The successful candidate will utilise advanced clinical expertise and evidence-based practice to guide service delivery, support complex clinical decision-making, and drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance consumer outcomes and recovery-focused care. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, the role is responsible for integrating local service coordination with organisational priorities, ensuring effective risk management, workforce planning, resource utilisation, and compliance with relevant policies, standards and legislative requirements. 

This position requires a strong commitment to professional leadership, education, and continuous improvement within mental health services. The successful applicant will mentor and develop staff, facilitate learning and clinical supervision opportunities, support research and service evaluation activities, and lead the implementation of best-practice mental health care. With outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you will act as a trusted advisor, role model and change leader, fostering a safe, positive and high-performing work environment while promoting innovation, evidence-based practice, and excellence in consumer-centred mental health care.

• Are you skilled in using evidence, data, and clinical information systems to drive quality improvement, manage risk, and improve mental health service outcomes?  

• Do you demonstrate strong capability in managing competing priorities, resources, and service coordination within a complex mental health environment?  

• Are you committed to ongoing professional development and able to foster learning, supervision, and capability building within mental health teams?

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?  

You will……….  

• Provide expert mental health nursing leadership, including advanced assessment, risk management, and care coordination for consumers with complex and acute needs.  

• Lead and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based mental health care across service settings.  

• Contribute to clinical governance activities, including quality improvement, incident review, and the use of data to enhance service outcomes and safety.  

• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health policies, procedures, and best-practice frameworks.  

• Provide education, supervision, and mentoring to staff, while supporting workforce capability development and continuous professional growth.
