About the Opportunity

The Senior Administration Officer is embedded in a solicitor team and provides high level administrative support to all members of that team. The Senior Administration Officer is a key member of the solicitor team to which they are allocated and has responsibility for maintaining the administration requirements of all files across the team. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Updating the details of records of key information pertaining to current files in the ODPP Prosecution Case Management System (PCMS) and on the physical file, including all correspondence and court documents
  • Maintaining up-to-date calendars for Solicitors, Witness Assistance Officers (WAOs) and other key stakeholders (e.g. SAPOL), in particular details of Court date(s), File outcome(s) and details/changes relating to a case(s) or associated matters
  • Processing antecedent reports
  • Processing witness scheduling documents
  • Preparing and copying trial briefs, including Preparation of Indexes to Briefs.

Successful applicants are placed in a pool and notified, if and when, suitable vacancies arise.

The ODPP is an office of approximately 200 staff, comprising both legal and administrative functions. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was established through the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, 1991 to provide an effective, fair and independent criminal prosecution service for the people of South Australia. Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
