About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Principal HR Business Partner (ASO7) to join our People and Culture team. This is a maternity leave cover opportunity through to September 2027.

In this senior role, you will partner with executives and leaders across the Department to deliver strategic and operational HR advice. You will play a key role in fostering a high performing, inclusive and values led culture, leading HR initiatives and supporting organisational change. You will also play a part in mentoring and coaching the HR team to support the effective and efficient HR advisory support to our teams.

Key Duties:

  • Provide expert, solution focused HR advice to leaders on workforce planning, performance, change and people related risk
  • Manage complex employee and industrial relations matters, including performance, conduct and grievance issues
  • Coach and influence leaders to build capability and drive high performance
  • Support organisational change initiatives including restructures and workforce realignment
  • Oversee delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery and customer experience
  • Contribute to HR policy development, governance and best practice frameworks

Key Selection Criteria:
Please address the following in your application:

  1. Demonstrated experience as a senior HR business partner, preferably within the SA public sector
  2. Proven experience managing complex employee relations and industrial matters 
  3. Ability to influence, coach and build leadership capability
  4. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive issues

Qualifications:
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business Management or a related discipline

Remuneration:
ASO7 classification
Salary Range: $116,089 - $125,490 per annum (plus superannuation)
Worked over 37.5 hours per week

  • Term vacancy to September 2027 (maternity leave cover)
  • Appointment subject to a satisfactory screening check
  • Requirement to comply with Public Sector Act 2009 and relevant legislative obligations
