Job Description:
The Landscape Officer is responsible for contributing to the
delivery of the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board’s (the Board)
operational programs, projects and priorities as outlined in the
Regional Landscape Plan.
This involves managing and supporting projects and initiatives
aligned with the 3 basic pillars of natural resource management,
including pest plant and
animal control, sustainable agriculture, water management and
undertaking associated compliance related activities. Additional
focus areas will also include biodiversity conservation and
community engagement.
The role will develop and maintain productive relationships with
local community and other key stakeholders, through the provision
of technical and specialist advice on issues relating to natural
resource management.

- Gathers and evaluates information and data from a wide
range of formal and informal sources including internet,
literature, other organisations and professional networks.
- Evaluates information and collaborates with other staff to
ascertain a practical solution aligned with
organisational/customer needs
- Provides thoroughly researched documents that are expressed
concisely, in plain English and in unambiguous terms.
- Organises information in a format that makes it easy to
read.
- Prioritises workload and allocates time appropriately with
ability to communicate difficulties to their manager in a
timely way.
- Takes a planned approach to organising work using available
tools.
- Understands Government directions as it relates to the Eyre
Peninsula Landscape Board.
- Is able to provide accurate technical advice with regard to
natural resource management matters and willingly shares
technical knowledge with landholders, community and team
members.
- Ability to live and work in a remote regional area with
regular travel
- Desire and ability to undertake Fieldwork in remote
locations
- Demonstrates ability to undertake Pest Plant and Animal
control and guide stakeholders
- Willingness to be proactively involved in compliance,
investigation, and enforcement in line with the Landscape
South Australia Act 2019 (the Act) and successfully
complete training to become an Authorised Officer under the
Act.
- Prepared to undertake and successfully complete 1080
training and ChemCert Training
