About the Roles
• Lead and shape specialised speech pathology services in either Critical Care, Trauma and Spinal Injury services or ENT/Head and Neck and Cancer Services across CALHN
• Build strong multidisciplinary partnerships, guide clinical excellence and support complex communication, swallowing and airway care while mentoring the next generation of clinicians.
• Deliver expert care for patients with complex communication, swallowing and airway needs
• Lead speech pathology service planning, coordination and evaluation
• Support management of patients with altered/complex airways including tracheostomy, ventilation and/or laryngectomy within acute care.
• Mentor and supervise speech pathologists, assistants and students
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to drive patient-centred care
• Contribute to Models of Care, patient pathways and service improvement initiatives
• Represent speech pathology and allied health on committees and working groups
• Advocate for best practice and high-quality patient outcomes
About You
You are a confident and compassionate Speech Pathologist who thrives in complex acute care environments. You bring strong clinical expertise, a collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Degree in Speech Pathology with SPA eligibility
• Expertise in complex acute adult caseloads
• Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care and or laryngectomy care
• Skills in instrumental swallow assessment - VFSS and/or FEES
• Strong leadership, teamwork and clinical judgement
