SA SES is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader, Warehouse Operations and Logistics to manage our primary warehouse facility at Netley. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring operational assets, equipment and consumables are available, serviceable and deployment ready in order to support our emergency response and community safety.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Assets, you will lead the end-to-end warehouse and logistics operations that underpin SA SES operational readiness. You will provide leadership and oversight of warehouse, logistics and asset management functions, ensuring robust systems, governance and operational readiness across the organisation.

You will lead a small team of Warehouse Operations Officers and coordinate a dedicated group of Logistics Support volunteers, while working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the emergency services sector and government.

This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, providing advice on risk and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen SA SES logistics capability.

The core responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • leading warehouse and logistics operations to ensure assets are available, maintained and deployment-ready
  • managing asset, fleet and inventory systems, including tracking, audits and lifecycle management
  • embedding and upholding safe, compliant and efficient practices which are aligned with WHS, risk and governance frameworks, and
  • leading and developing staff and volunteers, while driving continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement: the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, committees, suppliers and government agencies.

Operational duties

As an emergency assistance and rescue service, our people undertake duties across our routine business functions, as well as participating in operational duties during event activations. This provides a unique opportunity to not only use the skills and knowledge you have in your daily occupation, but also to develop tactical skills while being part of the emergency response.

Operational duties may be rostered across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Staff who are rostered on operational duties are remunerated appropriately and in accordance with the relevant industrial instruments.
