About the Role

As part of Adelaide Festival Centre's ongoing commitment to build on its strong position as an internationally recognised performing arts centre, the position of Marketing Lead has become available in the Marketing Team. This role will manage end-to-end strategic planning, execution and evaluation for marketing campaigns for Adelaide Festival Centre. 

This position will give a marketing professional the opportunity to drive the sales success and grow audience engagement for some of the state’s most exciting festivals and events. You will use your expertise to build data-driven marketing campaigns to deliver ROI and reach and convert large and diverse audiences. To succeed in this role, you have delivered multiple, successful marketing campaigns. You’ll be known for your ability to build and maintain successful and professional relationships and ideally have a background in marketing for the arts, tourism or entertainment industry. The vacancy will be offered as a 1-year full time contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of campaign strategies, above and below the line, in consultation with Head of Marketing, Publicity and Communications, Digital, Ticketing and Programming teams
  • Liaise and negotiate with internal and external clients on all aspects of campaign activity ensuring all outcomes meet client requirements and are approved prior to implementation
  • Work closely with the Design Studio to devise a creative campaign approach for all assets
  • Negotiate media bookings with government appointed agency across various channels (digital, print, out of home, broadcast, social media) on behalf of clients and the AFC and develop media schedules in adherence to government protocols
  • Develop, implement and manage marketing budgets associated with sales campaigns, setting financial objectives to ensure cost-effective campaign delivery and provide advice on budget allocations. Identify and target new market segments and commercial marketing opportunities and develop proposals to realise potential
  • Identify opportunities for marketing partnerships to engage stakeholders, sponsors, suppliers and other external parties including precinct partners to increase awareness of our activities and ultimately engagement and ticket sales
  • Lead content creation efforts, including briefing the Video Content Coordinator and Publicity team, to develop on-brand marketing materials for TV, social, digital, and print

Skills & Experience

  • A passion for and a high level of understanding of the arts/entertainment/events industry and tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or Media (or a related field) will be well considered
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing strategy, digital marketing techniques, content creation, and media buying
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A consultative team-building style with the ability to accept responsibility for making decisions
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with a wide range of diverse people, both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, results-orientated focus
