About the role

The Business Manager delivers expert business advice, analysis and support to achieve objectives, managing day-to-day workflows across leases, contracts and finance, monitoring budgets, and providing HR advice, recruitment support, and assistance with grant-funded cost centres.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead divisional business planning and contribute to service planning to support strategic objectives.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking.
  • Provide business management support, including oversight of leases, contracts and compliance with policies and frameworks.
  • Support human resource functions, including workforce coordination and management of delegated staff.
  • Develop and maintain financial information systems and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related field, with strong financial management capability.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, forecasting, and development of financial and management reports in a complex organisation.
  • Highly developed analytical, communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Experience managing contracts, compliance, and providing advice across business, financial and/or government frameworks.
  • Strong capability in using business systems and tools (e.g. Excel, Access, Power BI), with knowledge of government funding, HR systems and processes
