The Role:

The Senior Test Analyst is a member of the PlanSA Delivery Team and is accountable to the Test Lead, PlanSA. The role provides a source of expertise in testing planning, execution and reporting for defects and enhancements to PlanSA systems and multiple sub-systems.

Key internal and external relationships will be with DHUD staff, and internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

  • Well-developed and applied knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile software delivery methodologies.
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret business, user, functional, and technical requirements to ensure testing activities support business outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document testing outcomes and effectively communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to estimate testing effort, manage competing priorities and meet agreed timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in tracking testing activities, managing defects, and preparing clear and accurate reports on testing progress and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in testing applications within cloud‑based environments.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience in functional testing across complex systems.
  • Extensive experience using Jira for test management, defect tracking, and reporting.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with test automation and performance tools, including Selenium, JMeter, SQL and Postman.
  • Demonstrated Leadership capability, including mentoring and supporting junior team members.

Special Conditions:

Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 2 years.

Remuneration:

ASO6 – $102,171 min – $108,071 max + superannuation.
