We are seeking applications for both a Principal and Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join Workforce Operations at the Department of Treasury and Finance for a 12-month opportunity.

Remuneration: ASO6–ASO7 ($102,171 – $121,246 p.a.)

About the opportunity:

Shape the future of workforce strategy and partner with leaders to deliver impactful People and Culture outcomes across the Department of Treasury and Finance.

Reporting to the Lead People and Culture Business Partner, these roles work closely with executives and leaders to provide trusted advice and tailored workforce solutions that align with organisational priorities. You will contribute to a contemporary, client-focused business partnering model, supporting a wide range of workforce activities including employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and performance management. At the senior level, you will deliver high-quality advisory support, while at the principal level you will lead complex matters, influence strategic direction, and drive workforce initiatives that strengthen capability and organisational performance.

You’ll join a high-performing, collaborative team where your expertise will be valued and your impact will be visible across the organisation.

About you

Working under broad direction, you are a highly capable and solutions-focused People & Culture professional with demonstrated experience operating in complex environments. You bring strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, enabling you to effectively support and influence workforce outcomes.

To be successful you will be:

  • Experienced in the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice policies, procedures, strategies and/or initiatives
  • Able to work independently under limited direction, managing competing priorities to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Skilled in providing practical, evidence-based advice on complex workforce matters, including employee relations and organisational change.
  • A strong understanding of relevant industrial instruments, legislation, and contemporary People and Culture practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in building effective stakeholder relationships and influencing leaders to achieve workforce and organisational outcomes.
