Remuneration: AHP2 ($91,785 - $106,330 per annum).

Role Details:

Our Multicultural Services Team is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join their team and deliver effective social work services to support children and their families. This is an opportunity to leverage your experience in a senior role and make a meaningful impact by assessing the needs of children and families and working with children in the care of the Minister to ensure their development, stability, and security is assured.

Essential Qualification:

  • AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

In this role, you will be:

  • Undertake case management work within a care and protection framework, applying a solutions-focused approach with a high level of competence.
  • Contribute to the protection of children by assessing risks of abuse, neglect, failure to protect, and harm to self or others.
  • Facilitate reconnection between children in out-of-home care and their birth families to strengthen relationships and support sustained reunification.
  • Collaborate with various specialists and take advice in implementing clinical intervention with children and their families in various settings.

About You:

  • You have a sound understanding of children and young people, particularly in regards to developmental stages, vulnerability, and resilience.
  • You have the ability to assess situations impartially and use negotiation and mediation skills to resolve conflict and achieve workable solutions.
  • You can manage diverse workloads, organise and plan work activities while taking into account the need to prioritise tasks and responsibilities.
  • You can develop and maintain strong working relationships with people within government, non-government sectors and communities.
