Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a leading regional hospital in South Australia, offering 58 beds, including flex and monitored beds, and a broad range of services such as emergency care, general and surgical services, maternity, outpatient clinics, and outreach programs. We are proud to provide chemotherapy services, along with a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department - both the largest outside of Adelaide - ensuring advanced care close to home for our community. Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Port Augusta

 

About the Role:

As a Trainee Medical Officer, you will contribute to the provision of high-standard clinical services to patients at Port Augusta Hospital, with a focus on Obstetrics and Gynaecology and other medical services as required. You will work collaboratively with other medical staff to support the day-to-day management of patients and participate in rostered emergency and inpatient medical services.

In this role, you will be involved in patient assessment, including history taking, examinations, investigation planning and the development of management and treatment plans. You will ensure accurate clinical documentation, effective communication with patients, families and healthcare professionals, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings while maintaining patient confidentiality.

 

About You:

• Medical qualification registrable with Medical Board of Australia.
• Minimum of 1 year post graduate training.
• Successful completion of intern or intern equivalent program.
• Good theoretical knowledge.
• Knowledge and awareness of quality improvement activities and clinical risk deduction and patient safety techniques.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
