About the role

The Policy and Project Officer position sits within the Policy and Research team of the Curriculum Strategy and Planning directorate and works collaboratively as part of a team of briefing officers, engaging with staff across the Curriculum and Learning division, the department, and a range of stakeholders to provide centrally coordinated policy advice through the preparation of briefings and management of workflows that align with the objectives of the division and the department.

 The Policy and Project Officer is responsible for the delivery of a range of high-level policy, projects and research, within broadly defined guidelines, that are designed to expedite and improve information flow from the Curriculum and Learning division to the Chief Executive and Minister.

The Officer provides high-level policy writing and quality assurance services that are based on contemporary writing styles, and an extensive knowledge of government policies and operations. The Policy and Project Officer also develops and maintains effective networks with key stakeholders across Department for Education sites, relevant services and their personnel, as well as with a range of external agencies and organisations, in order to ensure the best quality outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential: Nil.

Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification.

Special conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration  

ASO6 $102,171 - $108,071 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
